First journal entry! Really late. Should be sleeping but oh well. Ok here goes.
This would only be relevant to those who follow the Midgard Project (love you guys, thank you for all the support! ). I'm currently (between revising for exams) in the middle of updating my map of Midgard to make it HD and change some things.

- The British Isles are further away from mainland Middle-Earth (Beleriand now fits in the gap) - less embarrassment for Gondor that way. The islands of Tol Fuin and Tol Himling are between them.
- Iceland is closer to Scandinavia, and Berk (and most other islands from the HTTYD movie franchise) are between it and Britain.
- Removed the Atmoran peninsula, replaced by Westeros.
- Tamriel will be made using the anthology map from 2013. Westeros will be made using the map from the Lands of Ice and Fire.
- Yokuda now closer to Tamriel, with the islands between them (e.g. Thras) visible. I really should not have left them out to begin with.
- Added Pyandonea, which originally was submerged thousands of years ago (yay retcon!), though it will be smaller than the original. Keeping the atolls in the middle of the Pyandoneac ocean as maormer territory though.
- Small islands such as the Polynesian ones, the Azores, Canaries, Mauritius and Reunion, are now visible.
- Included the Balkan coastline in Valinor (east of Italia) to make it more natural-looking.
- Added some more Mediterranean islands as part of the Caribbean.
- Narnia will have more accurate landforms.
- You'll be able to pick out Mirkwood, Lothlorien, and Fangorn. Numerous large rivers such as the Anduin, Brandywine, and the Greyflood will be just about visible.
- Added some lakes to westernmost Forodwaith (north of Angmar).
- Drowned Florida.
This map won't be out for quite unfortunately due to exams. I'm writing this now to ask for feedback on the proposed changes and anything you might want to see added. I may upload a WIP image if people are interested.
Midgard - The Ending of Game of Thrones
In case the title of this post didn’t make it clear, there are MAJOR GAME OF THRONES SPOILERS HERE. Read on at your peril, though seriously why haven’t you watched it already? At least for the memes; they’re spicy and free.
While Midgard’s Westeros is very much from A Song of Ice and Fire rather than the TV series we finally have an ending. Whether or not G.R.R.M has a similar one in mind only time will tell, but at least we can now guess where certain characters would be in the years to follow.
So first of all, I’ve pushed back the ASoIaF timeline by ten years, so that the Great War now begins in 311 AC. This
Midgard 2.0 - The Final Countdown
Another year goes by and we get another Christmas. Christmas in my family is a low key affair, with lots of chocolate and an inordinate amount of time sitting around watching telly, and I'm on a laptop that can only do photoshop. So maps are made, and this year I finished it! Well not quite, still got a lot of labels to do and convert it into orthographic for the focus areas as the thing is way too big for a single image. Expect a teaser with Westeros later today, but for now here's the continents at 12.5% zoom. Yay!
As a bonus! Midgard Google Earth Overlay
I'm just gonna leave this here. Enjoy!
TetZooCon 2018 - A Scrub's Perspective
This will be the worst TetZooCon journal entry you’ll ever read. I'm not sorry.
So overall it was pretty good, and by good I mean awesome. Between bouts of restrained nerdgasms, I learned of obscure and exciting tetrapods.
Also I saw some maps,
some graphs,
exciting projects,
and heresy.
I met people I’ve read about online and whose art I’ve enjoyed for years, including Mark Witton, John Conway (who isn’t real, just a hologram, according to Witton), and the granddaddy of spec-evo himself Dougal Dixon. Cool guys. I didn’t recognise any of them in person. Got to take a look at the drawings that would be somew
Midgard - MC Flag Poll
Just a quick journal today. In the brief moments between dissertation writing where I've not been losing the will to live, I've briefly re-visited the flag of the Midgardian Collective and have come up with two alternatives.
Option 1
The original that I made ages ago. Blue represents the planet, brown is Masser, grey is Secunda, white is Oblivion, and the black is outer space. The others both follow this basic theme.
Option 2
Here I've switched out the colours to those of real life flags, shrank the white around the blue and added it around the moons. The blue comes from the United Nations flag, the red of Masser is that of the Union Jack

Honestly, you should remove the British Isles entirely. They do not fit very well with Tolkien's legendarium, and more importantly, you should even expand Middle-earth so the Shire is in Britain's location.
